TARGES & DIRKS

BLOOD OF MY BLOOD | SEASON 2 (2026) | Sony Pictures LTD

I first made a 2 part mould of a hard targe using sillicone and a Jesmonite jacket. We then placed a CNC’ed perspex disc inside the mould before casting to give the targe more stucture as well as attachment points for the straps to fix to (threaded holes in the disc). Gold powder was brushed into the metal details of the mould. We then poured a soft expanding foam (tinted brown or black) into the mould. The leather straps were screwed onto the targe using machine screws into the plastic discs.

I painted the targes with a paint and flex primer mix to create the leather finish using a sea sponge. They were sealed using the Hex Flex primer as a top coat.

DIRKS

BLOOD OF MY BLOOD | SEASON 2 (2026) | Sony Pictures LTD

60 Dirks were made using moulds of 4 different style handles.

They were cast from PU rubber and immediately after pouring a CNC’d blade was inserted into the mould to form a solid piece.

The handles were painted using spray paints

The blades were painted using a silver spray base coat and a Pro Chrome top coat.
